Studies have indicated that possessed meat consumption can dramatically increase a person’s risk for heart disease. Researchers have found that even weekly consumption of processed meats can make a significant impact to one’s overall health.
New research has shown that 5.3 ounces of processed meat weekly can drastically decrease life expectancy. This research was taken from a recent study where experts viewed people’s eating habits with a followed up health exam. This study lead to the discovery that 5.3 ounces of processed meat a week has a 46% risk increase for developing heart disease.
The research also showed that the participants who consumed that much processed meat had a 51% risk increase for early death than those who were told not to consume that much processed meat. The authors of the study recommend that people should cut processed meat from their diet in order to preserve their life expectancy.
